Assembler - Job Summary:   Performs diversified and intricate assembly operations on a variety of medium and small assemblies to strict tolerance requirements. 
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
·         Performs regular mechanical assembly and testing, which is typically of moderate to high complexity that requires fitting, aligning, or adjusting of components and/or assemblies to close tolerances, and also involves repetitive tasks.
·         Requires good manual dexterity, using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and semi-automatic equipment. (Capacitive Discharge, Raytheon Welders, Computer controlled centrifuges, Helium Leak Detectors, Spring winding lathes, vibration analyzers, oscilloscopes).
·         Wind springs, trim springs to close tolerance
·         Performs or installs various electrical or electronic components where operations are specified by blueprints. 
·         Tests or assists in testing of complete units.
·         Performs some R&D on products.
·         Individual to perform various operations including, but not limited to, the marking of components using a marking machine or hand stamps, capacitive discharge welding in a Class 10,000 clean room.
·         Works with various chemicals
·         Maintains cleaning/maintenance of clean room including ceilings, walls, floor, benches, equipment, etc. Monitors particle count.
 
Education and/or Experience:
·         High School diploma (or equivalent) or 2-4 years related assembly and/or shipping experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
·         Ability to speak, understand, read and write English language. 
 
                                               
Special Job Requirements:   
·         Able to perform simple math calculations such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, common fractions, decimals and percentages.
·         Able to work from detailed blueprints
·         Soldering experience a plus
·         Ability to work with little supervision while exhibiting skills and knowledge to maintain a high level of productivity and product quality.
·         Must adhere to all safety rules including wearing of safety glasses in designated work areas.
 
Reasoning Ability:
·         Ability to solve routine problems, with decisions made using established set of rules.
·         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
 
Physical Demands:   
·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use arm to hand to finger motions. Reaching with hands and arms above, level and below shoulder.
·         Wearing of latex rubber gloves required for some tasks
·         Handle, feel, turn, and rotate tools, fixtures, components, and related equipment with finger and arms.
·         The employee must frequently sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, bend down as required, and perform lifting (up to 25 lbs).
·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (sometimes through a microscope), distance vision, and depth perception.
