Background:
CIRCOR Instrumentation Technologies (CIT), www.circortechnologies.com, a division of CIRCOR International, Inc., is currently seeking a talented engineering professional for the Design Engineering department at their Spartanburg, SC facility.  In addition to providing departmental leadership, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute product design and code compliance experience to the company.  CIT manufactures precision fluid control solutions such as instrumentation valves, fittings, and pressure regulators for a variety of market applications, including Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Power.  The main product brands include HOKE valves, GYROLOK tube fittings, and GO pressure regulators.

Position Description:
 
·         Coordinate all projects within the design engineering department, ensuring they are properly resourced, tracked and completed within the specific project plan
·         Ensure global code compliance and registration for all products manufactured by the Spartanburg location
·         Provide leadership to the design engineering group
 
Main Responsibilities:
 
1.    Product Design: 
·      Design of new products including valves and other flow control devices  
·      Coordinate new product development projects, ensuring proper specification preparation in accordance with the stage gate process  
·      Be a design resource for the engineering group
·      Lead product design revision activities
 
2.    Product Verification: 
·      Ensure published performance data is accurate through product performance testing in the laboratory 
·      Expand product application and materials knowledge for superior alloys (254 SMO, Hastelloy C, Duplex and Super Duplex)
·      Lead deep-level investigations for challenging applications
 
3.     Code Compliance and Certifications:  
·      Be familiar with all global applicable codes  
·      Make sure all products have the appropriate registrations and certifications.
·      Participate in relevant industry trade associations
 
4.     Leadership:  
·      Increase the level of code and design knowledge within the design engineering group.   
·      Ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner in accordance with the individual project plans  
·      Liaise and coordinate all design engineering activities with Sales & Marketing
 
 
Education/Experience:
 
·         Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, P.E. registration preferred
·         Previous product design experience, especially flow control devices such as valves and regulators
·         10+ years working experience at a manufacturer
·         Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
·         Working knowledge of stage gate product development process
·         CAD, Finite Element Analysis
·         Materials (superior alloys) and corrosion experience
·         Deep working knowledge of applicable design codes and regulations (API, NACE, UL, PED, ASME, ATEX)
·         Market and application experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Power
