Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:
· Work closely with Strategic/Tactical Sourcing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and supplier representatives to assure vendors are supplying conforming products
· Initiate supplier development through documentation verification, PPAP, inspection criteria, and supplier visits
· Act as the technical/quality representative with suppliers to ensure timely corrective action and communication with all pertinent parties both internal and external
· Travel to suppliers to verify systems are capable
Education/Experience:
· BA or BS degree in Engineering or related field
· 3 – 5 years minimum experience in Supplier Quality maintenance
· 2 – 3 years of Quality Engineering experience in a fast paced environment
· Strong working knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP), using FMEA’s, Control Plans
· Excellent communication skills with internal departments and ability to relay Hoke requirements to suppliers
· Background in Lean, Kaizen, or Continuous Improvement
· Machining background with GD & T preferred
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
